Paolo Corsini: pianoforte
Alessandro Turchet: contrabbasso
Luca Colussi: batteria
“Let’s Start From Here”, ovvero: “Cominciamo da qui”. Distribuzione IRD e Believe Digital

Let's Start From Here
The album by pianist and composer Paolo Corsini entitled "Let's Start From Here" is released on Jazzy Records, accompanied by an evocative video clip set between stations and airports and produced by the same label. "Let's start from here" is not just a statement but almost a warning to indicate the constant evolution of music and life. Corsini's traveling companions are the double bass player Alessandro Turchet and Luca Colussi. Alessandro Turchet is almost an alter ego of the leader in the musical field, a musician with whom he has shared and refined the path of musical growth. With Luca Colussi and his refined and visceral style, the circle closes: three distinct voices that intertwine in a single choral intention. The collaboration as a trio is officially consolidated in 2016, practicing a lot of Bill Evans' music and building an original repertoire. In 2020, from the same recording session "Signs" come to light in the name and with original music by Luca Colussi and "Let's Start From Here". The compositions contained in this disc were written in a period ranging from the late 90s to today. There you will find all the references to different aesthetics of which the leader carries the strong influence and with which his style has been consolidated. The New Orleans tradition of "Third Line" is coined with a more modern grammar. "Silver Line" is a pictorial game where the silver line of the melody is placed above the landscape painted by the underlying harmony, while "Short R" is unequivocally stretched out in Wayne Shorter's arms, with a strong desire to search for the unusual . "Wild And Nasty" was born from listening to and passion for Herbie Hancock and the Miles Davis quintet of the sixties, with a clear "riotous" and biting intention. With “Bloody Ballad” we move towards a more dilated and captivating environment, close to the world of Terence Blanchard. The dances start again with "That’s It", not diverging too much from the previous environment but with a pungent vigor, from Hard Bop, almost New York. “Rising Up To Life”, is a three-movement suite that goes through a language of classical origin and then mixes with the jazz style. It is a sort of invocation to continue courageously to life and to all the paths that arise with it. Bill Evans' poetics reigns supreme in “Time Remembered”, and then throws himself into darker and sharper territories with “Double H”, clearly dedicated to Herbie Hancock.
